In the 2008, Spicul celebrated 160 years of existence.

The Spicul’s history begins more than 160 years ago, when the wheat processing water mills on Dambovita’s bank, were the first time mentioned in documents. From the very first years of existence, Spicul was distinguished by the quality of its products, fact recognized by its record from the early days until the present time in the Royal House suppliers list.

The present characterized by the key words health, quality, efficiency, the S.C. Spicul S.A. shareholders took the strategic decision to invest in a new and modern production complex, in such manner that this is able to supply all its customers with a diversified range of products, from the basic food to the most sophisticated bakery products.

The new investment, amounting at over EUR 30 million, is one of the biggest investments of the milling and bakery field and materialized into a construction on a land located in the north side of Bucharest and in the purchase of new production lines: Japanese, Dutch and Austrian.
